Oakley M Frame Glasses Review

If you have ever wondered what kind of glasses Amar’e Stoudemire wears, we have an answer for you – Oakley M Frame Glasses.

And best of all, you can wear them everywhere you go, not only for sports protection.

On February 19, 2009., in a game against LA Clippers, Amar’e Stoudemire suffered a pretty severe eye damage. The player suffered a detached retina and missed the rest of the 2008/2009 season. After surgery and recovery, Stoudemire announced he would wear protective glasses for the rest of his career. His choice was a modified version of the Oakley M Frame Glasses with clear lenses.

Oakley M Frame Sunglasses are classifed as true safety glasses, safe for use in all kind of sports events. They are very light, durable and engineered to absorb any impact. Plutonite lens material adds protection, filtering 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light up to 400 nm. They are used by soldiers, SWAT team members and growing number of sports stars.

There are many lens options for your Oakley glasses. You can choose clear lenses for indoor use, yellow lenses for low light situations or grey lenses, designed for medium to bright light. People who bought the Oakley M Frame Glasses praise their durability and interchangeable lenses, alongside with their excellent field of view. Another big plus for the glasses is that they are very light so there are very few points of face contact, but that doesn’t stop them to fit securely on head.

There are a couple of objections too. Obviously, the biggest one is their price. Oakley M Frame Glasses don’t come cheap – their average price for one pair is more than a 100 $. Reviewers are also pointing to the fact that Oakley M Frame glasses can stain easily, but that can be fixed with regular maintenance.

Are the Oakley M-Frames strong enough for sports? Your site recommends polycarbonate lenses; are Oakley’s “plutonite” as strong or stronger?

Oakley lenses are made of a patented material, called Plutonite. So, yes, as they’re similar to polycarbonate lenses, they are strong enough for any sport.

Thank you for posting this, It’s just what I was researching for on bing. I’d significantly rather hear opinions from an individual, rather than a corporate web site, that’s why I like blogs so a lot. Thanks!

Can you put a prescription into these? Would you recomend these for strictly basketball?

As far as we know, you can, but you should send the email to Oakley, just to be sure. Yeah, Oakley glasses are great for basketball, even Amare wore them, so there you have it. 😉
